Increase Your Chances – Nail Your First Impression – the Headshot - #1
We have all heard the phrases around first impressions, “you only get one chance to create a great first impression,” “you don’t get a second chance to create a first impression,” the list goes on and on. These quotes all make sense, but how do we ensure we are doing our best to create that first impression? Below is the first of ten areas you may want to pay particular attention to when thinking about your first impression.
As the availability of digital cameras / mobile phone cameras has increased, it seems that many professionals and organizations have moved to a DIY direction when capturing traditional headshots and environmental portraits for their websites and other online mediums. When crafting a professional headshot consider what message/image are you trying to convey by answering the following questions:
Where will your image be used?
How will my pose, expression and lighting of the image convey this message?
How will the location/background help convey this message?
Will my image help me stand out from the crowd?
